Parent & Child Book Breakfasts
Our next parent and child book breakfasts will be held during the Spring Book Fair.
Tuesday, May 15th at 7:30 AM (K - 2)
Thursday, May 17th at 7:30 AM (3 - 5)
4th and 5th Grade Book Club
Help raise money to buy new books for the media center and celebrate a special occasion at the same time. For a donation of only $10.00 your child can choose a new book for the media center collection.
Black-Eyed Susan (BES) Program
BES is a children's choice award for the state of Maryland. The BES Award honors outstanding picture books and chapter books – each year 15 picture books and 10 chapter books are nominated. Students in the state of Maryland vote for the winning book in each category – that is what makes this Award program so exciting!

Chapter Book Nominees
It isn't easy being a pioneer in the state of Washington in 1899, but it's particularly hard when you are the only girl ever born in the new settlement. With seven older brothers and a love of adventure, May Amelia Jackson just can't seem to abide her family's insistence that she behave like a Proper Young Lady. Not when there's fishing to be done, sheep to be herded, and real live murderers to be captured! May is sure she could manage better if only there were at least one other girl living along the banks of the Nasel River. And now that Mama's going to have a baby, maybe there's hope....
